DANA supports professional biathletes and trainees
For the first time DANA has acted as a sponsor this year and has contracted professional biathletes and trainees.
These are the professionals Daniel Mesotitsch and Fritz Pinter (men), and Iris Waldhuber (ladies).
The two biathletes with national team coach Rainer Gösweiner were very successful in this year's World Cup season:
The Austrian biathletes gained a World Cup victory in the category men's relay in Hochfilzen in December 2009. The Austrian national team also succeeded in the following World Cup races in Ruhpolding and Antholz in January 2010.
In Antholz Daniel Mesotitsch has gained his first World Cup victory for 8 years in the category men's individual placings.
In January 2010 a press conference with the Olympic biathletes Daniel Mesotitsch and Fritz Pinter, their national coach Rainer Gösweiner and the World Cup biathlete Iris Waldhuber took place at DANA's just before the beginning of the Olympic Games.
Helmut Klausner, president and CEO, said at the press conference: "We are pleased to support our biathlon national team and this fascinating sport. The DANA employees wish the biathletes good luck for Olympia and the World Cup finale."
Daniel Mesotitsch's success in this year's season was crowned with the silver medal in the category men's relay at the Olympic Games in Vancouver.

Furthermore, DANA has set a special focus on supporting local biathlon trainees in this year.
The young biathletes Julia Reisinger, Anna Hufnagl, Mario Drescher, Lisa Unterweger and Lisa Ehgartner were really successful in the Austrian championships.
Horst Kögl, CEO Marekting and Sales, declares happily: "We are proud to have a share in the success of the young Austrian biathletes by sponsoring them."
Lisa Unterweger gained first places in the Styrian Masterships, categories mass start and sprint, and some first places in the Styrian Cup.
Lisa Ehgartner won the Austrian Biathlon Mastership in Eisenerz and thus brought the title to Styria. That's already the second championship title for the young Styrian beathlete.
